Our stay at Poggio Martino was fantastic. We were 20 adults, 13 kids for a 40th birthday party. Right from the get go, Francesca was very responsive, helped to coordinate with our event planner. She even sent us videos of the property. She gave us great recommendations and organised a few things for us including a fantastic winery for a celebratory dinner, babysitters etc. FANTASTIC host. The property was very clean, had all the basics. Super markets are slightly further away (nothing walkable) so needs a bit of planning especially with young children - but Francesca told us that and told us where we could go. After the event, the caterers etc. left a few things and Francesca and the cleaners were very understanding (they had no reason to be). I appreciate the flexibility and kindness immensely. Thank you for all your help Francesca. It was a memorable few days for everyone.

Great villa and pool. Villa is divided into separate apartments with their own kitchens and washing machines which is fantastic for groups wanting to stay together but have some independent space. The rooms remained surprisingly cool despite no air conditioning (outside temp was around 30 degrees plus). Every room has its own fan. Francesca was very helpful and quick to respond with any queries. Thanks for the stay!

Firstly, I was not going to publish a review as we felt we had moved past the unpleasant experience during our stay but I am now compelled to do so as the hosts have filed an unfair damage report , using inaccurately old photographs, in order to get additional money from us. Our main issue with the hosts is that rules were not properly explained prior to check-in or during the in-person check-in. We were never told that noise had to be kept to a minimum and that neighbours lived nearby. In fact, the property was listed as both remote and welcoming of parties. Each day the host would add new rules and threatened to involve the police with absolutely no prior warning. A pool cleaner would arrive pre 9am every morning but would not only clean the pool but inspect the whole property. This made us feel very unwelcome and not relaxed on holiday. Random people would then enter the property and wander around completely unannounced every day. The host then resorted to scare tactics such as asking for large sums of money and wanting to involve the local authorities. On the second morning of our stay the host threatened to kick us out of the property without liaising with the independent resolution centre at Airbnb. This was without any prior warning. In fact, we sought counsel from Airbnb on our consumer rights. The complete opposite of what we wanted to be doing on what should have been a relaxing holiday. We only give our stay a second star as the property itself was absolutely stunning! No words can describe how good our stay at Poggio Martino was. It is the perfect villa! Pool, table tennis, views, all incredible. Francesca and Chris made our stay easy we cannot thank them enough! Book it. You won’t regret it! Only 10min drive to closest big supermarket. Location is spot on!
