We had a rocky start between the faulty door lock, pigeons in the annex, and dirty apartment. The host fixed the two issues and we cleaned to our standards. The apartment could use some general maintenance and regular cleaning by a professional. The building maintenance is non existent, walls are peeling, floors look like they have never seen a mop let alone a broom. Entrance door to building is frightening and does not get any better when you step in. The neighbors upstairs are quiet but you hear everything, one below likes to sleep during the day! We think if you are here for 3 days and are sound sleepers , no problem, but not for long term. Sinks in kitchen and bathroom drain slowly and you’ll need to use the plunger now and then. Would we recommend this apartment and neighbourhood, no. Keep in mind, no elevator, it is 73 stairs to the door. Francisco the host was helpful and responsive, we had to leave early due to allergies triggered by building.

A friend and I stayed here for a month to remote work & we absolutely loved the apartment. Has the Spanish vibe whilst being ideal for living in (cooking in some nights, chilling on sofa, etc). Location worked well for us as is easy to get to beach and most central parts. Not a negative on Francisco’s flat as there isn’t much they can do about it but the flat above, during our stay, the gentlemen gets up early for work (5:30/6:00) & you can hear him walking around, so if like me, being ear plugs and sorted. I stayed for almost two months is this quirky and comfortable flat, and had a wonderful time. The hosts are communicative and friendly, and the facilities in the flat are exactly as described. It is worth noting that while the location of the flat is incredibly central, and couldn't be better for exploring the city, the neighbourhood, not unreasonably, has a little bit of a reputation. However, I had no difficult experiences worth reporting, and I would thoroughly recommend the flat and the hosts.

Having originally booked in 2020 the host was kind enough to let us amend the booking to 2023. The apartment itself has a good functional kitchen with washing machine and oven and for the cost you get a good amount of space. However, we paid for a month but only ended up staying for 10 nights in total. Air con was broken and the hosts initial response was questioning whether it’s hot enough for us to be using it. They were coming to fix it approx 15 days later but we had already left. Apartment was fairly dirty (dust covering) and some appliances were broken. Main issue we had was noise. Upstairs would come home late with people making noise in hallway and stomp around, apartments next and opposite would play loud music late into the night. Neighbourhood isn’t very pleasant, especially at night. Just FYI Apartment is on 4th floor so a lot of steps which would be hard for someone not fit or mobile enough.

I stayed here for 4 months during my study abroad experience. Francisco & Javier were great host. They were very responsive and proactive with our questions and concerns. The apartment matched the description and pictures and had all the amenities you need for a long term stay. The apartment is right off of Las Ramblas there is a lot to do in the area. It is considered to be unsafe at night, but my roommate and I did not experience any issues during our stay.
