Cool buildings, lovely campus, and generous and kind hosts. After driving 5000km back and forth across North India it was an immense treat to find a place tastefully, quirkily, and simply designed and decorated: one of the very few places that didn’t seem like it had manifested from some communist-era interior designer’s nightmare vision. On top of that, we had asked for recommendations for somewhere to rent cycles and we arrived to find that the kind hosts had arranged two cycles to be repaired and ready to use free during our stay. Clearly, many people in India like their hotel rooms square and boxy, with dirty bathrooms, cheap plastic- and plywood-furniture, and lit with white fluerescent tubes or blue and pink LEDs. If you are one of those people, I can heartily recommend you stay far away from here.

decent place to stay with some definite benefits and drawbacks. would have been nicer to be on the river and away from street noise. but it was important to me not to have a clean, safe place without bed bugs or people being loud at night. unfortunately near busy streets that are noisy all day and much of the night. also children are naturally loud during day. i was sick a lot, otherwise this is not a problem as you will be out and about. nice to see the kids and teachers it is a safe environment with a better than usual aesthetic, not your usual ugly modern for-profit air bandb. working hot water shower with floor divider that helps keep bathroom floor cleaner and dryer. less harsh and oppressive lighting than most indian buildings i saw. common space is interesting but also a bit dangerous to walk around in the dark, easy to trip. barely adequate electricity outlets, uncomfortable beds and pillows, kind of far from where you want to be, and noise main drawbacks.

This place has a charm of its own. Peaceful. Serene. The dogs in the campus - Choti , Bapu and Rafi are an added charm. They lift your mood up the moment you enter the campus. The cafe attached in the campus has a nice ambience . And loved the food here!

A neat and clean place about 2.5 kms away from Assi Ghat. I liked the colours of the decor and the fact that the place is set inside a lovely school which has beautiful paintings and cute kids raising the whole vibe of the place. There’s a nice cafe in the property itself with lovely staff and home-cooked meals available on request.

I had a really wonderful stay at Irfana and Gaurav’s place. The accommodation is part of a beautiful school run by a group of very efficient and lovely ladies who made sure that we were comfortable at all times. A wonderful Cafe forms part of the school and the food is freshly cooked, healthy and delicious. The architecture of the grounds has been uniquely designed and added to the charm of the place. The place is 15-20 mins walk away from Assi ghat. The only negative point was a rather grumpy caretaker who kept insisting that we come back before 9pm despite house rules stating that the gates would be locked at 10pm. However, that is a minor point compared to the warmth and hospitality we were shown by everyone else. Highly recommended!
