What a very interesting, quirky house!. I was there with three other buddies playing golf. The house can accommodate many more. The views, the views, the views!!!!!!! One can’t help, but wonder in the history of the house. Prestwick itself is a lovely town with plenty of eateries, places to have coffee, and cocktails. We drove in to town. Perhaps one could have walked????? but we did not try. Tricia is a great communicator before our arrival. To me anyway, that is one of the most important things. She also left some little snacks etc. out for us. Mind you, we are golfiing guys. The bathrooms, shower, bathtub situation worked out just fine for us. Not sure my high maintenance wife would have agreed………but given the price and other amenities, the bathroom situation lacked a bit. Again…… Super fine for us, and I would stay here again.
Bentfield is a quirky & wonderful house with plenty of room for 12 people. Great location & facilities and the weather was fabulous with NO midges! The curtains in some rooms could do with a more classic update 😊Hot tub was fab, and the beach was great for paddle-boarding. Highly recommended x

My Parents bought Bentfield in 1953, and I grew up there with my brother and two sisters. We loved it, running wild about the garden, swimming all the year round, every rock and puddle had a name. They created a most beautiful garden, originally there was one tough sycamore bush! Now there is a croquet lawn, rough tennis court, a most beautiful garden to explore. The views are outstanding. They extended the house too, making the most of its location. while leaving the house totally in keeping with the local tradition. The views are superb. A house challenge - spot the Green Flash of the sunset with a Wee Dram from the sun room, known as an Eclipse.
