Sam replied promptly to questions before I arrived and provided loads of useful information, he couldn’t do more. The choice of food offered is somewhat limited if you’re staying for more than 2 or 3 nights, if only a night or 2 then no issue, there are some places to walk to but it’s on unlit gravel tracks so you might not want to venture out though it’s perfectly safe to wander the local area. There are not really enough tables and we saw 2 arguments between guests over tables at breakfast and 2 more heated discussions re seating at dinner. Ideally there would be some more comfortable seating options by the pool too and again when it’s busy (12 chalets, so could be 24-30 people staying ) but only 8 chairs by the pool. The scooters to rent are only $5 a day but are getting pretty tatty now but great to rent and be able to buy fuel on site, push bikes also available to rent. The bed was comfortable, great shower and air con all really clean but could do with a bed side table and light.

We loved Sam’s Trang A Retreat ! He’s a wonderful host. We got into a mess trying to book a cab to the retreat from Hà Nội airport - eventually reaching out to Sam for a solution ! He was eager to help and very quick in responding to our distress call. The retreat is just as advertised - it’s beautiful and peaceful. It’s super close to the Trang A boat tour which is thoroughly enjoyed. The pool is well maintained as is the property. The staff is polite and helpful.

Sam proved to be an exceptional host, going above and beyond to assist us in organizing our commute from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, a task we were clueless about. His responsiveness was commendable. Additionally, the reception staff deserves praise for their fluent English skills, ensuring seamless communication throughout our stay.

Amazing views and amazing space! We loved our relaxing time at Trang An retreat. This was a great getaway from the busyness of the local attractions. The food and amenities were amazing and Sam and his team were very accommodating. They set up transportation, rentals and provided amazing food. My favorite stay of our vietnam tour so far.
