It was a living dream ~ waking-up to a Steinway grand piano in quiet, timeless surroundings. My focus during the stay was just to practice piano and develop ideas, which I could do 24/7. That's a remarkable opportunity for any musician, especially pianists, and I encourage musicians to visit and just play, abandoning any habits you may have for going online and "staying connected". Services are plentiful in nearby Lebanon and Woodstock (go to Super Shoes in Lebanon if you forget your house shoes, and to Mont Vert in Woodstock if you want perfectly-cooked bacon), and I recommend backing in to driveway to make getting out of it easier.
We have stayed at the cottage on multiple occasions. It is such a comfortable space for us. Fred and Sabrina always make us feel welcomed. We so enjoy the quiet and beauty of the area. The cottage is clean, everything we need is available to make us feel it is a home away from home. It is conveniently close to Woodstock, where go to visit our son and his family. We look forward to return visits. One of our favorite things is time spent on the deck. Enjoying early mornings with a coffee and evenings checking out the night skies. We highly recommend.
Really nice stay for the weekend. Very private and secluded, but easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, cute towns, and skiing!
Had a lovely stay! The place was easy to find, and easy to manage. It’s small and cozy, with lots of good books about jazz and nice decorations of saxophones! I stayed here for two weeks to record an album, and was not disappointed! The piano is absolutely magical. Frederick is very kind and responsive, and made me feel right at home! I did certainly need a car, as nothing is in real walking distance, but I had lovey visits the Hanover and other towns not to far with some great places. All in all, a great stay, especially for musicians!
It was our second visit and my wife and I absolutely loved the place! It's small but perfect for a couple get away. It was very quiet and relaxing! Thanks!

My wife and I have a large family. We love to travel and hang out with our kids and grandkids. As a teacher and musician my life is full of music! Sabrina is a vocalist and an event & wedding planner. We love hosting guests at the cottage and sharing the incredible beauty of Vermont. The Steinway piano (model L) that has been in my family since 1929 is a real gem!
