this is a difficult to write and mixed review. My circumstances were that as UK citizen I was booking 2 nights for a Ukrainian Refugee and her 14yr old daughter. the family were travelling under huge stress leaving their home under war circumstances to meet me, their sponsor, at Calais. I had only spoken to them on facebook. They arrived in the early hours of the morning, and the host welcomed them and gave hospitality. they were then evicted from the room for the day, and we all slept on put up beds the next night. ( this had been arranged as a possibility although I was under the impression a proper room had been found.) Our shock and horror was that Madame and her husband also slept the night in the room with us . we were charged the full rate of board that had been agreed for a 3 person en suite room. We shared a bathroom with the rest of the extensive house. The host also charged 30 euros for 2 x Macaroni cheese served at lunch. As stated already - a mixed review of support in difficult times along side outrageous charges and an illegal room share - Monsiuer in the same bedroom as a 14 year old vulnerable female refugee is surely illegal at best?
