A very comfortable property with a beautiful garden and stunning views. Ten minute scenic walk to the beach. Easy access to local attractions and direct access to the coast path.

What a gem of a place in an absolutely idyllic location. Scenic views all around and you can watch the sun setting over the sea from the garden, the dining table or the kitchen sink. In a way I don’t want to sing the praises of the beautiful unspoiled beach because it’s so rare to find. Thankfully it’s a bit of trek down to it (and back up again), which helps to keep it peaceful. The house has everything you could possibly need and a really relaxing feel to it. A welcome pack of local goodies and a bottle of bubbly was much appreciated, and we enjoyed the wood burner on a chilly evening. Beautiful walking along the coast path and a fab meal at the Gurnard’s Head was a highlight, as were the sausages and steaks from Chypraze farm’s butchery.

Wheal Rose is owned by the Montgomery family. We bought the cottage in early 2016 after falling in love with the local area for its outstanding beauty and wildness. In our opinion it is one of the last few remaining unspoilt corners of Cornwall. We all holiday here on a regular basis, both together as a family and individually with friends. When we're there, we enjoy long walks along coastal path, returning home to big hearty fishy suppers, watching the sunset from the kitchen table. Our favourite time to visit is in the winter when the sea is at it's most dramatic, crashing on the rocks. But you can't beat a long day in the summer on the beach, stumbling back up to the house just as it's getting dark, feeling sun-kissed and satisfied. We look forward to welcoming you to our lovely cottage and hope that you have as many happy times there as we do.
