We had a good stay for a family event (offsite), but we were disappointed that the 2 bedroom was not really a 2 bedroom. I had looked for a place with 2 bedrooms because we were traveling with our daughter and wanted to have privacy (for both of us). Although it was listed as a 2 bedroom, one of those is actually an open loft, and that was the only one with a larger bed. So my husband and I were sleeping in the open, as the only bedroom with a door had 2 small beds. I've read it more closely since then and see that it's listed as a loft, but I think it's still a bit misleading to also say there are 2 bedrooms. The suite also definitely needs updating at some point, but we realize the hardships that came with surviving the lockdowns. A lot has been put into the outdoor space, which makes the rest of it worth it. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The staff are also super nice and helpful.

This was the perfect location and setting for our family. The room was exactly as described. Check in was a breeze, amenities were lovely and the location was amazing. The view of Lake Michigan from our deck and a few hundred yards walk to the beach out our front door. The restaurant was delish and we had a blast. Love it! We will be back!

This property has a great location and we loved having direct lake access. They also serve really good pizza, and the gentleman who provided dinner service was very nice and welcoming. The listing had a lot of photos of outdoor spaces, and I believe that the way the living space was described online (as well kept) did not match our expectations when we got there. Firstly, the property was described as having “spacious suites with queen pillow top beds.” The room with single beds was so incredibly tiny and cramped - there was not even a nightstand in there and the two single beds were touching. There was not a photo of this in the listing, so we had no way of knowing ahead of time. Second, when we got there, we had been driving the whole day, and wanted to just rest. The room was warm and musty, so we immediately turned on the air conditioning. The in-unit AC was not working well enough to cool the entire suite, and the AC was not reaching the room with the single beds, so we couldn’t use the room with the two single beds to sleep in - the provided fans did not help to cool/air it out at all because it was just hot air recirculating. So two people slept on the pull out couch, which was extremely lumpy and uneven to sleep on. We let Pam know about the AC via the Airbnb app, and did not get a response. If you look at other reviews, many say the same thing- poor host response. Cleanliness was not up to par- there were stains on the pillows and covers. Next, the toilet was broken and did not flush properly. When brought up to Pam once we woke up in person, she said the maid did not mention anything like that- so we felt like she automatically dismissed our credibility, like it must be fine if the maid didn’t say anything. There were many bugs on the ceiling because the door screen had gaps, which was not in the listing, and didn’t know would be the case until we got there (expecting bugs near lake, not expecting holes in screen). We also saw a bug that looked like a cockroach that crawled out from underneath the bed, and when we brought it up, she said it is not native to Michigan, which to us sounded insulting, as though to suggest we brought a bug. Her response overall was that many others write great reviews. This response is so disappointing, it makes others feel not heard because it would be helpful if she listened to her customers that do have negative feedback. It would be good if she took some of the feedback to fix the place up, because the location is amazing. Our deck door kept jamming, so we had a hard time locking it, and the list goes on and on. Again, the listing just wasn’t what it seemed online and I believe the host should consider being more transparent, so this experience with customers could be avoided in the future.
