We were looking for a quiet, pet-friendly location within the path of totality to view the Total solar eclipse in April, 2024. We found the perfect place with The Olde Lakehouse located at Pillar Point in Adams Cove. This 1800s lakehouse boasts beautiful easterly views of the Lake Ontario and Guffins Cove. The home is cozy and quaint with a large enclosed porch that faces the lake for relaxing morning sunrises. The large, rustic living room has beautiful vaulted ceilings and a grand fireplace with wood burning stove. John, our host, was kind enough to start a fire for us so we arrived to a warm, comfy home. The kitchen is small and simple but is neat, organized and loaded with plenty of dishware, pots and utensils. The property is located a short drive from Watertown and Fort Drum. John and his family were great hosts and responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had. It was a perfect place for us to relax with our pets and see the eclipse. We will be back!

A little rustic, which is exactly what we wanted. John communicated very well, and we enjoyed our stay at his property.

John was very responsive and really friendly. We had a great stay at his place and used the dock for my 18 ft aluminum boat which was great.

Nice place to stay and easy to get to Cape Vincent and Clayton or go south to Sackets Harbor. Nice yard and owner was quick to respond to questions.

Nice water view. Close to attractions at Alex Bay, Clayton, and Sackets Harbor. Took advantage of attractions and restaurants there as well as a restaurant in Chaumont (The Blue Heron)
