Highly recommend a stay at this historical house. Very nicely appointed with some very interesting, antiques, and lots of artifacts. In a spectacular part of historical vicksburg. Excellent communication with the host/owner.

I wish that we could give a good review, but we were unable to stay. Before we booked it I read reviews as usual, focusing on the most recent one. They had talked about being double booked, so I read the other reviews and they all seamed good, so we booked it. We were really excited and to stay at this little piece of history. We showed up with a smile and went to get our key as directed, but the keys weren't there. A very nice lady came to the door and let me know that someone else had shown up and taken the room. THEY DOUBLE BOOKED US! After about 10 minutes one of the owners came down and said they were sorry. They tried to switch us to another property that wasn't the same as what we had originally booked. We just asked for a refund and we found another place. Until they figure this out I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

BEWARE!!!!!!! Host uses two booking platforms that do not communicate between each other. We arrived at about 4:00pm, after having booked and paid in full 5 weeks prior, to be told the room was double booked. We even received a text from the host at 1:30 pm of our arrival date to say they were expecting us! The host said the error was caused because they use two different booking platforms, Airbnb being one of them. Our room had been booked the day before, (we booked 5 weeks prior) and the couple had checked in at 10:30 am. Please note that we received a text from the host at 1:30 pm. At that point the room had already been taken! We were offered another room in the main house but the bed was very small for two people. The host did give us a room with a king bed, which is what we had booked, in a cottage, about 3 blocks away. The host refunded our original payment and did not charge us for our stay at the cottage. This cottage was comfortable but it was not the experience we had been anticipating. We felt very uncomfortable about the entire situation so we did not stay for breakfast. It would have been very awkward sitting with the couple that did stay in the room we booked! In talking to the owner she told us that we were better off staying in the cottage since the bathrooms in the main house were having huge plumbing issues. I just wanted other guests to be aware of this situation. I want to thank the host for not charging us for the one night we stayed there. The battle field is very worth visit, plan on at least 3 hours, mainly driving.

Such a quaint, cute getaway. Loved every minute!

We stayed in the Camillia room. Bed was comfy. Relaxing in the pool was a treat after driving all day. The house tour after breakfast was a blast.
