We absolutely loved our stay with Masaaki. The home is beautiful and there is a lot of space for guests. Masaaki welcomed us and showed us around and was available when we needed him. He has a very calm, warm and friendly nature. The futons were super comfortable and there are nice yukatas to wear. We had both of our dinners and breakfasts at the inn. They were outstanding. The care Masaaki takes with his cooking and presentation is amazing. He catered so well for our Pescatarian diet and we had bbq one night and Shabu shabu the next. The dining area is really special. We did the waterfall walk which was lovely to be in such a green area after big cities elsewhere. There is a soba noodle shop next door open some days which was yummy. There is also a bike cafe a few mins down the road which has lovely staff. Our teenage kids loved it too- would highly recommend staying here.

We were delighted with our stay at Toon-shi, which exceeded our expectations & was a highlight experience of our stays in Shikoku! Masaaki is a very service oriented, accommodating & kind host -- we were well taken care of the entire time. And his cooking is out of this world -- be sure & get the meals, you will not be disappointed (however, you'll be disappointed after you leave when you eat anywhere else!). The tatami rooms are elegant & the house is artfully appointed -- he plays jazz softly during the meals, I loved the ambience! The house is located in the beautiful countryside & close to a park with a waterfall -- this is a peaceful place to enjoy some retreat time & slow life down. We also found it convenient to take the train into Matsuyama City, as well as the craft town of Uchiko. We highly recommend staying at Masaaki's -- you'll be happy you did!

普通のホテルや旅館とはちょっと違った旅がしたいと思い、年末年始にこちらの古民家に宿泊しました。とても広く綺麗なお部屋で、夕食のジビエ料理（鴨鍋)も最高に美味しく大満足でした。 冬だったので寒さが心配でしたが、各部屋やトイレ、お風呂にも暖房器具があり問題ありませんでした。 ４歳の子連れで泊まりましたが、ホストのMasaakiさんの細かい心遣いで大変楽しく過ごせました。今回は二泊三日でしたが、次は長期滞在したいと思えるくらい、良いところでした。ありがとうございました😊

We had a great time at Masaaki’s place, the accommodation is very comfortable and spacy ! The place has a great view of the mountains, it’s beautiful :) Masaaki is an excellent host and I recommend to take the duck hotpot, it was delicious !

We (2 People) stayed at Kondoke for 3 days and it was amazing ^^ Masaaki was very friendly and he is an excellent cook. He was so nice to pick us up from the Trainstation Yokogawara and at our last day to drop us off. We would recommend to get the Breakfast and Dinner Option. The food was really good. At the Guesthouse is a big fridge with an excellent Sake collection from Masaaki that you can try. The Sauna at the Guesthouse and the other Sauna 494 (owned by Masaaki - 5 minutes by car) was also really nice and refreshing. Especially the Sauna 494 had an amazing view of the mountains and valley. The House, which is ~110 Years old, was clean and all essentials were provided (fresh Towels each day, Toothbrush, Shampoo, etc.). There was also a Yukata for each person if you like to wear it. A little fridge that you can use is in the first room of the House.
