King Creek · 整套民居 · 4室4床1.5卫 · 可住8人 · Narran Rise - 4-bed home with Mountain Views
Between Sydney & the Gold Coast, "Narran Rise" is a few minutes from the Pacific Hwy, making this comfortable home an ideal stopover on your journey — or a holiday in itself! Wake to the sounds of birds — and in the evening, watch the sun setting over the mountains. Explore Wauchope, national parks, wineries, rivers, lakes. The coastal resort of Port Macquarie is nearby with spectacular coastline & surfing beaches. Sleeping: 2 x Q, 1 x D, 1 KS & folding single. NB: unit adjoining, sleeps 3. SC UNIT ADJOINING sleeps 3 in queen and king single. Ideal for large family gatherings Narran Rise sits atop the ridge overlooking the 'timber' town of Wauchope and the mountains beyond. It was close to here, in October 1818, that Surveyor General, John Oxley, crossed Narran River (King Creek) as he neared the end of his exploration to find a route eastwards across the Great Dividing Range to the coast, and thus founded Port Macquarie in November 1818. Surrounded by small acreages and farmlets, the one acre property is extensively planted with a mix of natives and exotics, including an orchard where you can pick oranges to juice for breakfast, or grapefruit to enjoy. Also, in season, there are limes, mangoes, lychees, plums, mulberries and macadamias. Breakfast provisions will be supplied including milk, cereals, tea and coffee, and when available, free range farm fresh eggs (from nextdoor's chickens), bacon, bread and my own home-made marmalade and/or jam - or other spreads, to ensure you start every morning with a hearty meal! Wifi is available with password upon booking provided or QR code upon your arrival. Sorry, but no pets, no smokers and the home may not be suitable for children (as I regularly live here, my home contains the usual ornaments, nic-nacs and collections of my precious things accumulated over many years and may be irresistibly fascinating to inquisitive little hands!). Non-walking infants are welcome although you would require to BYO baby items. A portable cot is available, but you will be required to erect it yourselves - just let me know in advance if it is required.
Our host Gail was amazing, her home was a home away from home as soon as you walked in the front door it felt like home. Gail had everthing labeled , awesome breakfast provided, beautiful surroundings and very quite. Would highly recommend it.
Narran View is a very comfortable home in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. It has a beautiful garden and amazing mountain/rural views. Gail’s house is cosy and homely, with all the amenities you need for an enjoyable stay. Gail thoughtfully provided breakfast provisions, fruit and lots of things that made us feel welcome. Do yourself a favour and experience Gail’s piece of paradise. Gail was always willing to offer local knowledge and give suggestions on things to do. We would certainly stay again.
Gail was a fabulous host and the house was meticulously prepared ready for our arrival. We had a lovely stay in a beautiful setting
A relaxing weekend away with friends and children. The home was clean and spacious. The view was amazing and it was a peaceful atmosphere to relax and plenty of outdoor space too.
The Greater Port Macquarie area has long been a popular holiday destination. Port Macquarie itself, with its spectacular coastline and surfing beaches, city-style shopping, entertainment centre & art gallery, and restaurants showcasing the cuisine of the world. Go fishing, whale & dolphin spotting.
Browse in Wauchope's country-style shops including some great independent fashion & lifestyle stores, visit wineries and attractions. Explore forests, national parks, bush and coastal walks and scenic drives.
And if you like to fish, water-ski, or kayak, the Narran River (King Creek) is a tributary of the Hastings River which enters the ocean at Port Macquarie. You can launch your kayak nearby. There is a boat ramp in Wauchope. The Hastings River is navigable by jetski or small boat all the way to Port Macquarie.
All these attractions and facilities are within easy reach — yet your holiday home is your country retreat.
Nearby Wauchope is on the main railway line between Sydney and Brisbane – if travelling by train, let me know and I may be able to collect you from the station. Port Macquarie is serviced by Qantaslink flights. Unfortunately, there is no neighbourhood bus service but there is a service between Wauchope and Port Macquarie.

I'm retired now after a career mostly in tourism marketing and publishing, and in my own business. I'm a typical baby-boomer — still young-at-heart with lots of things still to do, places to go, people to meet. Airbnb gives me that opportunity both as a traveller and as a host. My first experience with AirBnB was as a guest when on an extended holiday in France back in 2014. My partner and I stayed at an Airbnb for the first time and enjoyed the experience immensely, and our young hosts were wonderful! At home, I'm keen on gardening, reading (mostly historic novels), dancing (Latin, Argentine Tango, Rock'n'roll - I am a teen of the sixties after all!) listening to all sorts of music, singing in an online choir, as well as a female a cappella choir, also the only female in a blokes shanty singing chorale. And I play handbells in a ringing ensemble, meeting up with friends for coffee & lunch, and looking for great finds in Op Shops! And, of course, spending quality time with my two gorgeous granddaughters.
