Our guests tell us that they love coming back to the apartment - that it feels like home. We want our guests to know that even though you can see the Empire State Building from the apartment, it still takes about 45 minutes to get into Manhattan. Lovely newly renovated, 4 room apartment with separate entrance in private Victorian home in Jersey City Heights - close to New York City. Quiet tree lined street with view of Empire State Building and a green backyard in the spring and summer. Two bedrooms - one with full size bed for a couple, and the other with a single bed. Sheets and towels are of course provided. The living room also has a futon which can accommodate another two people. (The price for additional guests is $10. per person for children and $20. for adults) Great kitchen with all new appliances and everything you need to cook. Very spacious and clean bathroom with hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner and some other basic toiletries. Full shower but no bath. Flat screen TV with DVD player and full cable package including HBO and English Premier League soccer. Wi-Fi connection included. Lots of books to read. Great, affordable option for a long vacation or short business stay in the NYC area. Our house is a 20 minute walk (5 minute/ $10 cab ride) to Journal Square or Hoboken PATH Station, which is then a 10-15 metro ride into Midtown NYC or Greenwich Village. Bus to NYC on corner which is 30 minutes to Midtown NYC in traffic. The neighborhood is family friendly and safe. One block from grocery store, take-out restaurants (pizza, Latin food), transport, and local park with kids playground, running track, outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts and an indoor ice rink and swimming pool. If you are driving or renting a car, permit needed for local street parking, although enforcement is quite lax. We do not have a driveway or garage - we park on the street. Spots are available within a block or two depending upon how late you come home. The street cleaner comes 4 times per week so cars need to be moved to accommodate - alternate side. This is a rental unit for short-term stays, so you won't be living amongst another person's belongings and clothes - just some of our art and books to keep you company, and of course kitchen supplies. We live on the ground and first floor and this apartment is on the second floor and is completely separate from our home. We are around to answer questions and assist if you need anything.
