what a wonderful stay. rooms are lovely, facilities amazing considering the location and great communication feom the host. not a place to be missed.

Truly a wonderful stay. The room was perfect, our host was so warm & welcoming, and the food was perfect. We stayed just one night but wished we’d booked 2 nights in the Al Burj (deluxe double room). Our host was great- we learned about him and his family, Omani culture, and we got a full tour of the village which was great. He was also quick to take photos and videos of us to make the trip as memorable as possible. Follow the driving directions VERY carefully (don’t get anxious like us and turn too early) - if you’re not going down (after the turn-off), you’re going the wrong way. Plan accordingly and get there early to take in all the views and get the most from your experience. It is a hike with steep rock “steps” (very manageable) so wear proper shoes. Our host met us at the car park and helped us navigate to the village. We were the only guests on the night we stayed, which was amazing as we had the whole village to ourselves. I’m sure being able to mingle with the other guests in the gathering area would be a pleasure as well.

By welcoming guests in Al Sowjara, Mahdi and his family are not only preserving their centuries old renovated village but also showcasing the precious hospitality of the Omani and offering a unique departing point for remote hikes in these fabulous Hajar mountains. Staying at The cliff is a cultural experience.

Lovely place and very kind hosts. We were very happy and thank Mahdi and Mazen. I think they will slowly either adjust the prices or improve the amenities.

Its a really special place! The double cosy room is a "bijou par excellence". If you want enjoy Oman in a special spot thats the place to be :-) BUT i have to say its extremely pricy for what you get and compared to the other services in Oman.
