We enjoyed our stay at Mades. The appartment was well equiped, we stayed with 1.5 year old kid. The beach is short but steep walk away. The host was very helpful and welcoming.

Our stay at Fotini Apts was great. The apt was small and neat, perfect as a base for exploring Crete. The apt is very well equipped with washing machine, cooker and hob, outside washing line, cutlery, crockery and utensils etc, also plenty of towels and private car-parking space. The beach at Mades is small and sheltered and very pleasant, plus there are other beaches to explore nearby. The village of Mades is very small with no tavernas and only one shop, up a steep hill. It is really best to hire a car to get about, especially in the hot weather. There are tavernas and other shops a short 5-10 minute drive away. It's worth stopping at the nearest service station on the main road as not only do they have amazing cinnamon buns they also have the most amazing view of the coastline. Katerina was a wonderful host who made sure there were supplies ready for our arrival in the middle of the night. We flew to Chania and drove by hire car from there which is possible but the windy coastal highway takes about 2 hours. Heraklion airport is much nearer. We visisted many places from the apt including Knossos, Anogia, Matala (on the other side of the island) and the Zeus Cave (Diktaeon). It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay and I would recommend it to anyone who either wants to relax at the beach or do more exploring of the culture and sights of Crete.

A great apartment very close to Mades Beach - you can see the beach from the balcony and it barely takes a minute to get there. The apartment has everything you need for a trip - incl a great air conditioning. We stayed there as a family of 4 with 2 small kids for a week. By car you get very fast to the next supermarket and beaches & restaurants around the area. Katerina is so helpful and very nice. Thanks a lot.

Very hospitable and nice hostess. The apartment is very tidy and comfy. The beach is a picturesque place (very close to the apt).

Katerina ist eine sehr engagierte und freundliche Gastgeberin. Die Wohnung ist einfach aber liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Ortschaft ist leider nicht sehr attraktiv, aber mit dem Auto ist man schnell in Restaurants, Läden und grösseren Stränden.
