Lovely location, remote enough for nature lovers but just 15min from Gansbaai for groceries, etc. Plenty of scenic walks for all fitness levels, multiple swimming spots, nearby Lomond wine farm has great MTB trails. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, the covered outdoor seating area with braai is a relaxing vibe. Would revisit for sure.

Michelle is a warm, friendly and very responsive host. It was so lovely that she left us a bottle of wine made by herself and her family - a really nice touch. Ian the farm manager was super helpful and took time and care to respond to our questions. The farm is stunning. We loved the hikes and swimming/paddling in the dam - it was wonderful that our dog could also join in all the fun! The farm is also a reasonably short drive to the stunning coastline, as well as great wineries e.g. Raka. Although the cottage (Buchu) was rustic inside, it had everything we needed, as well as a stunning covered patio and braai area. The garden is beautiful, peaceful and full of birdsong, with a hot tub and fire pit. This particular cottage had a private path leading to the swimming dam and the various hikes. If you want to unwind, have a break from tv and technology (although there is excellent Wi-Fi), and immerse yourself in true nature, then this is the place to be.

Michelle’s place was a dream! Even though we were there for the weekend of a Wedding, filled with events, the area is so beautiful that we were still able to enjoy a hike and dip in the dam the morning of the wedding. The house is super cozy and accommodating, and Michelle was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. The location of the place is the best we could have asked- both very close to the wedding venue by car, but totally submerged in nature, so that it feels like a far out escape. definitely recommend this place!

Peaceful location with beautiful scenery. Everything is as described and Michelle is a very engaging host. Great venue for a restful stay and we certainly plan to be back.

Great stay in a beautiful quiet area, with gorgeous walks. Well appointed cottage, very comfortable and attractive. Loved our long soak in the hot tub under the stars… thanks to Ian for getting the fire going!
