The Garden of Isabella was like being in a secret paradise, in between the ocean and the mountains. The villa was incredible, a true piece of history- a throw back in time, to a grander time. The rooms were large and spacious and there were so many areas to discover- sitting areas, balconies, hidden passageways. You could feel the caring and familial pride that has been a part of the villa for a century and a half. The gardens/grounds were magical, and a joy to wander. Ancient vines and plants were strewn among different courtyards, pathways, a large back lawn with views of the sea, and a long front entrance way that private. The pool was enormous and surrounded by lush greenery and florals. Francesco and Maria were a delight-always on hand to help as needed (but not overwhelming) and arranged to have the darling, amazing cook Rosario make a special farewell dinner, of abundant local Sicilian fare which she made from her heart. We left our hearts at Isabella, but we will back!

Francesco and Maria were very attentive hosts, always happy to give recommendations, book taxis and restaurants which was a great help. Rosaria who comes in each day as maid / contact was also really helpful and kind and also gave us good recommendations. The villa which was built by Francisco’s grandfather has a great deal of period character which you can see in the photos. A beautiful old fashioned Italian villa with plenty of interesting style - and incredibly high ceilings. It kept a lovely atmosphere with no need for the air conditioner while we were there (high 20s). Do expect to take some time to work out how some things work - eg which light switches which chandelier. The pool and gardens are beautiful and our grown up children and their friends loved the whole experience.

בית יפה, מאוד מרווח ואותנטי, עם אופי סיציליני - אריסטוקראטי אמיתי. היינו 3 משפחות גדולות ולכולם הייתה פרטיות מוחלטת. אווירה חלומית, נוף משגע לים ולאתנה, כמו בסרטים. והגן - אין מילים! פשוט קסום! המארחים אנשים נפלאים, תמיד זמינים ומוכנים לעזור ולכוון. ורוזריה - הדובדבן שבקצפת, פשוט פיה אמיתית. בילינו שבוע נפלא, ממליצים בחום!

Det er som at komme ind i en historisk tidslomme. Kæmpe hus med dejlige værelser og højt til loftet. Godt stort køkken og dejlige stuer. Haven er fuldstændig vidunderlig og der er en betagende udsigt over havet. Poolen er stor og meget ren og der er mange solsengen at dase på. Rosaria (husholdersken) kommer hver dag og gør rent i huset og på værelserne samt vasker tøj (hvis du vil have det) og ryddet op. Hun er helt fantastisk. Rosaria lavede dejlig 3 retters middag til os 2 af aftenerne.
