Pia's house was a wonderful place to stay! It was easy to find, although we almost missed the turnoff onto the side road where it is located (Don't drive too Fast on Ishigaki -- slow down and drive on island time!). The house is airy and spacious, with a well-kept yard both front and back, and easy access to the beach. We took a sunrise walk on that beach every morning during our stay. We only wish we had decided to bring our little Jack Russel Terrier along with us -- he would have had a ball there! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The whole north side of Ishigaki is a completely different world from the south, where the city is, yet it is not too far away to get to the conveniences that the city offers. About a 30 minute drive and only 15 minutes from the airport. This place is ideal for anyone who just wants to get away from it all -- spend a lazy morning and then go out somewhere in the afternoon if you get bored. My kind of relaxing vacation!

We had a wonderful time at Pia's house. Firstly, the large and spacious house was a perfect fit for our family, and its location was a true gem. Literally just a few steps away from the beach, allowing us to enjoy morning coffee on the beach and blissful swims sessions before sunset. The beach was truly exceptional – long, almost deserted, with beautiful white sand and impressively large seashells that were a delightful discovery for us. We had everything we needed. The convenience store right around the corner, just a short distance further at the mini port little eatery serving delicious sashimi – the taste of the tuna will surely linger in our memories, place offering scrumptious smoothies (Smile Smoothie Cafe & Shop) within a short walking distance. Pia proved to be an excellent host. She provided us with a map of local attractions and a compilation of key points to visit or be aware of, which was immensely helpful. Her prompt responses and helpful demeanor truly stand out.

We had a fantastic few days at Pia’s place relaxing after a frenetic time in Tokyo. The location is perfect just off the beach which is just a few steps away and down a nice quiet side street in a very quiet laidback village. A perfect getaway which is really well connected to the rest of the island. Nowhere is more than 40 minutes drive and you are stuck for choice of all the amazing beaches to visit. The use of the car was brilliant as it made getting around so easy - would be very difficult without one. We did an amazing snorkelling excursion with EuroDIvers where we saw heaps of mantas and turtles. The beach by the house really is like it is in the photos and the sea is glorious. Definitely worth bringing wetsuit shoes or similar for walking in the sea though as you are in the tropics with its spiky sea creatures. The house itself is really well set up. It feels really airy with very effective air con and lots of places to relax. Pia was very responsive to our queries.
