We just stayed for 2 nights and came with hours of delay but Albe was the kindest, most forthcoming and experienced host one could wish for! Especially considering he had to leave extremely early in the morning. The cottage is nice, creaking floors everywhere, an intimidating monstrosity of a kitchen stove, instagr'eable bathtub plus a variety of curious lightswitches! Surrounded by a working class neighbourhood on the decline, London 20 minutes south and the countryside 20 in any other direction, you get to see all shades of England. It's a 15-minute walk to the trainstation or If you like it fast and comfortable, a cab is just about £6. Two-way-traintickets to wherever-you-might-wanna-explore are about £12-16 and the busstation at the Water Gardens Mall nearby offers even cheaper rides. Thanks, Albe!

This was our second stay at Pear Tree Cottage. Albe is the most hospitable and friendly Airbnb host we have ever met. He made us feel so welcome, he was always available (in person and text) with recommendations and chat yet gave us our own space. Pear Tree Cottage is full of character and super comfy. We would definitely recommend.

Albe’s home far exceeded my expectations. The bed is easily the most comfortable I’ve experienced in all my years of Airbnb. The common areas are beautiful and very welcoming, the back garden quite lovely. The bathroom is gorgeous and taking a bath in that clawfoot tub was heavenly. Albe is charming and personable.
