It’s hard to review; as I’m not even sure I stayed in the right place. The host didn’t reply the whole day I was arriving. They offered dinner - which I gladly accepted - it was the dinner the size for 4 people. Ok, in this part of the world you are not excepted to eat everything. They insisted on breakfast too, I tried multiple times to say I didn’t need / want any. Breakfast arrived next morning - fine, again, portions for 4 people. I tried to leave. 20JOD please for food… Again, I would like to stress, I’m not sure I even stayed at the right place, as the pictures didn’t really match the property. It’s a nice location tho. Also the bed had an underlining of plastic - so in the hot night it is sweaty. Not comfortable either. I’m sure they mean well, but the full toilet bin was a bit grim to arrive to, and old food & dirty dishes in the kitchen too.

Het guesthouse is een initiatief van de plaatselijke vrouwencoöperatie. Het bestaat uit enkele ruime kamers met eenpersoonsbedden, in een mooi oud huis met een mooie tuin. Bij aankomst tref je waarschijnlijk veel vrouwen bij de coöperatie. Er is meestal wel iemand die behalve Arabisch ook Engels spreekt. Ik vond de kamer lekker ruim, en de binnenplaats heerlijk, vol vogels en enkele groene bomen. De dames zijn heel welwillend. Het ontbijt is lekker en je kunt er ook 's avonds een goede maaltijd eten. Minpuntje was wel dat tijdens mijn verblijf het water in de badkamer was afgesloten. Maar ik kon ergens anders terecht voor douchen en toilet. Ze gaan dit vast weer snel herstellen. Het Qasr al-Abed ligt op loopafstand. Al met al: een mooi pand in een mooie omgeving.

Such a magical place to stay! Incredible views and an incredibly warm welcome. Delicious food - some of the best I ate during 4 weeks in Jordan. Interesting to look around the cooperative and speak to the women who run it. Would definitely recommend, thanks so much!

This is the perfect getaway from bustling Amman, not even 45 minutes out of the city, and it was easy to find in Google Maps for navigation. We went on a bit of a whim, so there weren't any specific workshops planned, but we intend to visit again -- especially for cooking lessons! The ladies were very friendly from the minute we arrived. It's best if you can speak some Arabic, as only one of the them spoke English. They served us mint tea before we took our bags to the room, and we planned out our dinner with them: chicken kabsa - literally the best meal I've ever eaten in Jordan. While there, we visited a nearby archaeological site and strolled around our part of the village. A family down the street even invited us to join them for tea outside in the evening. Our room was spacious, with stone walls and an arch, as well as a much welcomed air conditioner and ceiling fan. The bathroom was a 30-second walk and was spotless. I fully intend to go for a full weekend someday to just unwind, eat more amazing food, and learn how to cook it.

This is an immense beautiful experience. The women are super nice, smiling, everything is crystal clean, the ottoman guesthouse is gorgeous, and the breakfast was tremendous and very filling. The location is also super nice, in the mountains next to a quiet village. This was our best stay in all of Jordan, and we visited a lot of places.
