Our peaceful, orca-themed apartment offers a spectacular view over Grundarfjörður and famous Mt. Kirkjufell. In the summer you can watch colorful sunsets and in the wintertime witness the Northern lights in clear skies. The apartment is detached from the main building and includes a well-equipped kitchen (yes, there's coffee and tea), a private bathroom, as well as comfortable beds and a seating area for two people. The apartments are located at a former US Coast Guard Loran C base at Gufuskálar. Gufuskálar has a rich history since first settlers came to Iceland over 1000 years ago. The views from the apartments are great with ocean view on one side and the lava fields and Snæfellsjökull Glacier on the other side. Gufuskálar sits about 2.5 km from the nearest village so light pollution is at a minimum for viewing norther lights in the winter. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need.
