IORI SHIROYAMA is located on a hill overlooking Takayama and is a vila of traditional Japanese architecture, only one group per night. We have created a peaceful and high-quality space using natural materials and traditional Hida crafts. After detoxifying in the sauna, enjoy a retreat to shed your daily fatigue. A free shuttle service is available from Takayama Station. We will deliver to your house an authentic Japanese breakfast featuring Hida ingredients and other seasonal ingredients.

This SUKIYA-zukuri style house stands out in art and craft technique. It's in main part of the historical district in HidaFurukawa, where finding narrow streets aligned by "Machiya" townhouses with significant white walls and lattice. A renovated machiya (traditional townhouse) in Takayama's quiet temple district, crafted by local Hida carpenters and restored with a modern Japanese aesthetic. Private rental for up to 4 guests. As an annex of Taka-no-Yu bathhouse, guests enjoy free access to carbonated, herbal, and open-air baths, a cold plunge, and a wood-fired Finnish sauna with self-löyly. Welcome to "Sumiya Hagakure"! Sumiya Hagakure is located in Ichinomachi, a historic district in Hida Takayama. It quietly stands protected by the stone walls of a temple built by the lord of Takayama Castle 500 years ago. In front of it, the Enako River flows, adorned with beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant autumn foliage, offering a serene townscape that transitions from a merchant's town to a samurai's town on slightly elevated land.

Kusa no Niwa Traditional House Garden Takayama

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese-style house with a courtyard and corridors that was built more than 130 years ago. The entire house with a size of 100 square meters will be lent privately to a single group with a maximum capacity of 6 persons. You will find a fusuma, a sliding door with a paper panel, painted by a famous Japanese Painter, which can be also found in the Taue’s House, an Important Cultural Property, located in Nyukawa Town.
