Need outdoor gear or information on the local area? Down Wind is the place to go! The local guys that run the place are great and they do a lot for the community.

Down Wind Sports is a firm believer in the concept of "try before you buy"! A perfect way to find out if you like an activity or a particular piece of equipment is to participate in our rental program. The following is a list of equipment that we have available to rent through our Marquette and Houghton stores. Ice climbing boots and crampons, cross country skis, snowshoes, mountain bikes and goat/canoe rentals. A one time rental fee can be applied to the purchase of any new purchase that was rented.

Giant bike dealer. In addition to bikes, they have a lot of gear for skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, paddling, camping, fly fishing, climbing, and more. Thursday evening group rides.

Outdoor recreation gear shop. Camping, biking, skiing, paddleboarding, running - and more. Very knowledgeable staff. Equipment repairs available, as well as rentals for snowshoes and ice climbing gear.
