Some nearby pubs recommended by our students who have lived in Duchy House this year... -The Lyceum Theatre Pub -The Wellington -A pub in Waterloo near the Old Vic There are plenty of outlets within a five minute walk of Duchy House where you pick up a coffee and breakfast bite. The Strand is a lovely place for Sunday Brunch. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. You'll feel like you've stepped back to a bygone era, with the decor, the atmosphere, and the attentive service. There are some great buildings and institutions along this street. There is of course the station.Next to it used to be a news cinema. Heading east there used to be the Tivoli cinema.Further along is the Savoy.Hotel and theatre. The theatre is an art deco masterpiece.Next door is Simpson's one of the most famous restaurants in London.After Waterloo Bridge there is Somerset House and Bush House. Then the High Court on one side and the Temple on the other.A lot to see and do.
