Leonardo da Vinci's home while building the castle of Chambord. Great for kids and adults who are passionate about history and inventions.

Said clo loosay. The castle is more of a stately home and the final home of Leonardo Da Vinci. His creations have been brought to life throughout the gardens in giant size. There are nice picnic areas available in the garden so bring a picnic lunch, or go to one of the many lovely bistros nearby. Best combined with a visit to Amboise to get the full history of the friendship between Leonardo and King Francois I.

The Château du Clos Lucé, last home of Leonardo da Vinci in Amboise. It was at the Château du Clos Lucé, on the invitation of François I, that Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life, devoting his time to perfecting his inventions. Prolific and inspired, he worked as an engineer, architect, even as the entertainment coordinator, organizing lavish festivities for the Court. The Château du Clos Lucé is now a cultural park where visitors can get a better insight into the Italian Master's universe.

The childhood home of Francois 1er and where the king invited Leonardo da Vinci to live. He died here in 1519 and is buried in a small chapel on the terrace of the Chateau of Amboise. Clos Lucé has scale reproductions of Leonardo's many inventions, created by IBM engineers.
