If you're here on a weekend DO NOT MISS this. This carefully preserved theater has a balcony, a basement with snacks, and is often rented out for weddings and special events. Check out their movies and shows on the weekends.

Taking a trip back in time the the golden-age of cinema in the beautifully restored movie theater in the heart of Abilene's historic downtown. They show classic films and some more recent hit films. They host a world-class short film festival each fall.

This is an Abilene icon--the Historic Paramount Theater was built in 1929 and restored in the `1980s to its original beauty. It is truly amazing inside--clouds move across the ceiling and stars twinkle. They show classic movies and often have special events and shows. Even if you don't attend an event or movie, it's worth walking into to see. They are happy to allow any guest to come in.
