Established in 1975, the Hong Kong Museum of History is not only a highlight for history lovers, but also for the architectural enthusiasts. Together with the neighboring Science Museum it forms a harmonic appearance. On 17500 square meters, the museum manages to preserve and display 6000 years of Hong Kong history, from the Neolithic to the post-war period. It is worthwhile a few hours of your precious time to explore this fascinating museum, those recreation and reconstruction of historic scenes, shops as well as streets inside. There are chinese medicine shop and many other scenes which Hong Kong government relocated from their original locations stone by stone and recreated to show you the real life in old time. In addition, the museum offers special exhibitions with a specific theme which are just temporarily on display.
