Best Spareribs in town. Ussualy busy, but always cosy. Tremendous atmosphere. You are surrounded by books and rarities allover the place. Amadeus is the most popular sparerib restaurant(s) in Belgium (Antwerpen, Brussels and Ghent)

Amadeus is a small restaurant chain from two brothers who also run Amadeus in Gent and in Brussels. Antwerp has two Amadeus. One nearby de Schelde and the red light district, in Sint-Paulusplaats (de Sint Pauluschurch is worth a visit too) And one in the center of the old town, behind the town hall. The formula is the same in all restaurants, the no-nonsense atmosphere as well. "All youcan eat ribs" are the most wanted dish. The ribs are served with oven bakes patatoes and butter. You'll find a huge bottle of wine on the table. When you leave, waiters mesure how much you did drink from the bottle. Besides ribs the gamba's are popular, as well as the mixed grill. Vegetarians are not forgotten, there is also one veggie dish. This is not a refined kitchen. It's good mass production food served in a nice and antic-inspired interior that 'imitates' a certain authenticity. red and white jacquared plalstic table clothes included. These restaruants are loved by groups, but usually this does not disturb the more romantic diners, as the restaurants have separate rooms/spaces. The best place for ribs in an original setting
