Restoration House is superbly made with all things renaissance from a wonderful collection of English furnitures, paintings as well as its well-maintained twin walled gardens. Guests surely wouldn’t want to miss to check out this wonderful place while in Rochester.

Great Expectations was first published in serialised form from 1860. Considered to be one of Charles Dickens’ finest novels, many of the scenes take place in Satis House, the home of Miss Havisham.

Restoration House in Rochester, Kent in England, is a fine example of an Elizabethan mansion. It is so named after the visit of King Charles II on the eve of his restoration. Charles had landed in Dover on 25 May 1660 and by the evening of the 28th arrived in Rochester. Opening times are seasonal but you may be able to looka t the gardens.
