In between Javea and Denia, is an impressive cave bathed by incredible crystal clear waters. To reach the cave, one must hike or kayak. There are two access points by foot: one from Denia and one from Javea. The hike from Denia route is known to be the easier route. During the summer, it is mandatory to make a prior reservation on the Parques Naturales Generalitat Valenciana website.

Situated in the south of Dénia, under a cliff situated within the marine reserve of San Antoni Cape we can find the Cova Tallada (sculpted cave), a cavity open to the sea with a diameter of 400 m. The grotto was made to win raw stones, which were used by the Muslims to build their fortresses. The cave is located at the end of Les Rotes beach, a little path with ashtonishing views along the Mediterranean sea. Finally you have to climb to get to the opening of the grotto. As a recommendation, you need good footwear and if you want to visit the deepest tunnels you will need a lantern
