Our nearest park. 0.9 miles away. 80 acres. Popular with dog walkers, the river Derwent runs through it. There are tea rooms, tennis courts and children's play areas. To park put the postcode DE22 1DU (the postcode for Darley Abbey Cricket Club). Their playing field is on the edge of the park with the Paper Mill pub also sharing their free car park.

[5mins walk] Darley park is a World Heritage Site and is less than 5mins walk from the Butlers Quarters. It's a beautiful park with gentle hills and a lovely walkway along the river (pushchair friendly). There is also a fun walkway through a small woodland area, and walled hydrangea and butterfly gardens. You could visit for an hour or spend the whole day here. There is a cafe in the park with outside seating. Bacon, sausage and egg sandwiches are a bargain - simple but very satisfying! There are a number of more upmarket bars, wine bars and cafes at the Abbey Mills, just at the end of Darley Park at the weir. Many have riverside seating - great for daytime or evening visits. It's a 20min walk from the Butlers Quarters to get there. You could also get a cab for ~£5.

A summer favourite! Darley Abbey is a former historic mill village, now a suburb of the city of Derby known for its greenery and picturesque landscape. A wonder around Darley abbey is always a hit; well loved fun in the sun.
