Perfect traditional tea room in the Cotswolds, my favourite pit stop. Lovely inside atmosphere, lovely little seating out the back for Al fresco dining....... And they serve banana & peanut butter sandwiches, what more does anyone need?!

Traditional English tearooms are few and far between these days, and this Cotswolds establishment will transport you straight back to the 1940s. The Broadway setting is as picturesque as one might expect, and the menu is comfortingly classic – and well-priced, too. Pick up a cured ham sandwich, a scone and jam and choose from an extensive array of over 30 different teas. While in the area, pop into The Gordon Russell Museum. Celebrating the work of the renowned furniture designer, the museum was opened in 2008 by Sir Terence Conran and is housed in the original Grade II listed drawing office and workshop. The shop stocks a tempting array of work by local craftsmen and women, including stylish home furnishings.

Tisanes Tea Rooms occupy a 17th century stone building full of olde worlde charm in the large Cotswold village of Broadway. They offer over thirty different teas, most of which are loose leaf, compiled in a dedicated tea menu. The usual blends such as Assam, English Breakfast, Camomile, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Jasmine and Camomile are available, as well as some more unusual choices, such as; Rwanda Burundi, Ginger and Lemon, Apple and Cinnamon, Rooibos, Gunpowder, Mango Indica, Keemun and Japanese Sencha, among others.
