Stunning waterfalls with easy access (wooden paths) to view 2 waterfalls through pristine nature. The second and main waterfall can be viewed from the bottom AND top by climbing up a set of steps. The hike even continues alongside the stream if you feel this trip is too short/too easy. Beautiful nature. Recommendation: - arrive early as the parking lot gets crowded - there are several parking areas with the main one directly at the start of the hiking path. The other parking areas are further away by route 209. 55 minutes drive BUT absolutely worth it especially since this waterfall is on the same route as Raymondskill and Bushkill waterfalls - perfect full day trip to view some of the most stunning waterfalls in our area.

There is a nature center and a boardwalk pathway to the two falls. This is an easy hike but very lovely.

224 Dingmans Falls Road Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328 Dingmans Falls is the second highest waterfall in the state, with a plunge of 130 feet. Updated: Limited services available. Visit responsibly - Most park trails and boat launches are open, but some restrooms are closed and services are limited. Law enforcement is on duty. All park regulations apply. Visit this park webpage for more details. Starting at the on-site visitors center, the flat boardwalk trail to Dingmans Falls meanders through a beautiful hemlock ravine. Almost immediately after starting the trail, Silverthread Falls can be seen on the right. The cascade gracefully drops 80 feet through a narrow chute. Past Silverthread Falls, the trail winds through rhododendron shrubs and by tall hemlock trees, a short distance to the waterfall. The boardwalk ends at the base of Dingmans Falls, the second highest waterfall in Pennsylvania. View the falls from the platform or trek the final tenth of a mile via staircase for a birds-eye view from the upper falls.

Here is some of what you need to know: This is not the back country where majestic waterfalls are found by slogging over rocks and through brush. You are in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and they prefer their waterfalls to be on display like it’s the Macy’s department store. Take it for what it is, and know that because it is easy you will have time to hit several other falls in the area like Raymondskill and Buttermilk falls. -These waterfalls are wheelchair accessible and closed during the winter. This hike starts from a visitors center parking area. The lot is large but it fills up fast according to the park website. A boardwalk or flat surface travels past all the main attractions so people with limited mobility have the opportunity to see this wonder of nature. The first waterfall is the Silver Thread; its two tiers add up to 80 feet and the thread of water falls into a neatly formed channel. After a short stroll through a Rhododendron tunnel (Rhodies bloom in May), you will arrive at Dingmans Falls. Here you will see the water drop and cascade for an impressive 130 ft. The surrounding vegetation gives this area a deep jungle feel. Seats are in place so you can hang out for a little while and watch the water roll by. There is an option to take some steps to the top of the falls. It’s a short trip and cool enough to make it worth the effort.
