It’s located on what once was the Presidential Palace and is considered one of the most important Cuban museums, for the amount and value of its assets, its comprehensive exhibition and its cultural, historical and political work. More than 30 rooms are traversed annually by more than 300,000 visitors, almost half of which come from abroad, mainly the United States, Canada, Argentina, Spain, and other nations in Europe and America, making it one of the most visited in the country. The institution collections are formed by about nine thousand pieces, of which about 700 are exhibited in the permanent exhibition.The Museum and the Granma Memorial were declared a National Monument in 2010

Is one of the most characteristic postcards of the city. In the center of the square is the Jose Martí Memorial and around it are official buildings, whose facades are carved in steel the faces of Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos.
