Bar Avignon is a labor of love. An intimate neighborhood bistro co-founded in 2008 by husband and wife team Randy Goodman and Nancy Hunt. Bar Avignon draws inspiration from their travels in Europe and the bounty of local Oregon farms. The menu focuses on fresh and seasonal, changing frequently to reflect chef Nikko's exploration of Portland's farmers' markets. Oysters are always on hand, harvested fresh from regional waters. From charcuterie to pasta, we prepare every meal with love from locally sourced ingredients. Our wine list changes frequently, with offerings from near and far. We have several wines by the glass and many, many more by the bottle. Drawing inspiration from the vineyards of France (Beaujolais! Burgundy! Loire!) and Italy (Piemonte! Chianti! Alto Adige!), as well as the rich tradition of winemaking being created here in Oregon. The list is always being tended to; new winemakers and new bottles are listed alongside old friends; we are constantly looking for new treasures to share. Our bartenders craft cocktails with care and an eye towards the modern and the classic. We hope you will find our food delicious, our wine and spirits refreshing, and our service inviting.
A neighborhood bistro serving New American fare. My favorite restaurant/wine bar year after year. I have never been less than impressed with the food and service! baravignon.com
This is the tucked away neighborhood gem that you came here for. Low key, cute ambience...great food. And I mean great food. If you have an equivalent gem located your neighborhood please let me know - I'll move there. If not, no worries, enjoy ours. It's a smaller space so not the most family…
French, casual but high end. Great wine list, oysters, rotating mains. Very very good.
My favorite Portland restaurant for a nice, social dinner. Excellent food and service.
“Award winning bakery, excellent breads, sandwiches, pastries, salads, coffee and tea.”
“More of a high-end Mexican restaurant on Division St. Plates are small but the food is dope!”
“Find the best ebelskiver (little pancakes) at this local favorite swedish breakfast and brunch spot. Worth the wait, grab coffee while you do...”
“Salt n' Straw may be better known, but I prefer this other Portland ice cream place with unusual, gourmet flavors, but less waiting time. The ice cream and cones are fantastic!”
