When the fountain is fully-on, shoots water up to 20 feet high! Really beautiful spot to hang out for a drink or snack while enjoying the lakefront.

This is one of two spectacular water fountains in Chicago, the other is a very modern one in Millennium Park. But to me Buckingham Fountain is the most beautiful water fountain in the world! The Art Deco style sea horses are wonderful, and the amount of water is amazing. It's great during the day, but the best time to go is at dusk or after dark for the spectacular light and music show. Don't miss this, but you really should go to both to see just how different but equally spectacular they are.
