Kramerbooks is a classic meeting point in DC, Dupont Circle neighborhood, you can find and read books as well as take a coffee and eat!
I love eating while being surrounded by books! This is a fun unique institution in Dupont Circle where the Café serves up delicious brunch, dinners with wine or beer pairings, plus decadent deserts!
This is the most adorable bar in the back of a quirky bookshop. We recommend heading here for an early evening cocktail before heading out somewhere else.
“The Phillips Collection is not to be missed for art lovers, with pieces by Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Winslow Homer, Georgia O'Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, and Vincent van Gogh. The Rothko Room with four paintings by abstract expressionist Mark Rothko is a particular favorite. Tips: Tickets run from $8 to $12 per visitor, and visitors age 18 and under are free. The first Thursday of every month is "Phillips after 5," a popular event that runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (buy tickets in advance if you can). ”
“Great Oyster and Seafood Bar. The only downside is that this location does not take reservations. But you can call ahead and put your name on the list. Although this location is in Dupont Circle and a short walk from the metro stop, they have a location on Capitol Hill and a brand new one on the Wharf.”
“Bistro du Coin has the vibe of a regular Paris'neighborhood restaurant, no pretentious and delicious food (specially the onion soup!) ”
“The coffee is just amazing. No Wifi though - Better if you want to grab a cup on the go.”
“This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants in DC. It's a cab or Uber ride away, but worth the trip. The food is well-done Italian, the wine list is excellent. Located in an old townhouse near Dupont Circle, Dito's Bar in the basement is a cozy, welcoming spot. If you see our friend Dito bartending, make sure to tell him we said hello. Upstairs, the dining rooms are cozy, quiet and quaint. It's our favorite neighborhood restaurant. ”
