Take the moderately challenging, usually muddy, 1:15 minute, magical hike to Haena, otherwise known as "Shipman's Beach." During the occasional calm days you can swim or simply sit on the ribboned multi colored beach.

please note that as of November 2019 you must get a permit for visiting the North Shore of Kauai. There is a shuttle you can book onto or you can reserve a parking pass. Go to this website for more information. www.gohaena.com

This is where to access Tunnels beach. Highly recommneded for summertime snorkeling (conditions permitting). Generally extremely dangerous conditions in common wintertime high-surf. Lifeguard 9am-5pm

Just before the end of the road on the north shore. You can go to this beach without an entry fee but parking is limited. This is a lifeguarded beach.
