Sandy Beach is located in Douglas below out house on the water. If you love dogs, you will run into quite a few here as it is an unofficial dog park. This is also a great place for families to hang out on sunny days. On clear summer evenings, sandy beach is a great place to gather wood, have a bonfire and roast some hot dogs and s'mores.

Walk along the beach or take a hike on one of the nearby trails. It's a beautiful place to visit on a sunny day.

This is the one and only beach to take the little ones so they can walk in the sand. "Sandy Beach" is how the locals know this area. There is a play area and covered shelters (available to rent). It is also the access point to the historic Treadwell mining area (where do you think the sand came from).
