Joe Pool Lake
Joe Pool Lake and State Park has swimming, fishing, biking, canoeing, hike, bike, or just picnic! There is even an original Texas homestead historic farm you can explore.
Joe Pool Lake is a fresh water impoundment located in the southern part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in North Texas. The lake encompasses parts of Tarrant, Dallas and Ellis counties. The lake measures 7,740 acres with a conservation storage capacity of 176,900 acre feet.
If you like water sports you can visit the marina and rent boats and jet skis for a fun day! The Marina Restaurant may have good drinks or sights BUT is NOT a great food recommendation from me.
“Racing that rocks you! Catch the fun and excitement of world-class Thoroughbred horse racing at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. The Class 1 track features a European-style paddock and live racing on dirt and grass surfaces. The Grandstand is a seven-level, glass-enclosed, climate-controlled building with penthouse suites, terraced track-side dining room, box seats and outdoor seating. Or watch Simulcast horse racing from around the country at the Bar & Book. Plus, come to watch your favorite team on our huge HD projectors and TVs in the sports bar. Bet you’ll have a blast!”
“Nice little park to just go stretch your legs and see some local flavor. Very diverse, very Texan, and a nice easy 2-3 mile walk around the perimeter. ”
Grocery or Supermarket
“Great grocery store! Closet one in area. There is also a gas station here.”
“The Dallas Filet is the only steak I get there, the best! With a sweet potato and cesar salad.”
