Markeaton Park is 2.5 miles away. Best park for kids. 207 acres in size. It attracts over a million visitors a year. Great for kids, lots of play areas & outdoor crazy golf, tennis courts, golf putting course, footgolf, paint a pot, boating lake, outdoor paddling pool and paint a pot. There are food kiosks and a cafe. During school holidays donkey rides, electric car rides, bouncy castle and kayaking are also available.

Paddling pool, open May to August Bank Holiday. Donkey rides, zip line, bouncy castles, mini golf, boat hire. Ideal for a walk and a picnic. Only a few pounds to park up.

30 minute drive from the cottage. Markeaton Park is Derby’s most visited park and is one of the most popular attractions in the East Midlands. If the weather's nice take the kids swimwear or just a towel, as it has a huge paddling pool in the summer. Great for all the family.

Large park with plenty of play areas for children inc crazy golf, climbing frames, high wires and splash pools. There’s a small cafe in the courtyard area serving drinks, cakes and small meals . Also I think he courtyard are arts and crafts shops. Great place for a cycle and a walk
