Houses of Parliament the heart of Westminster. You can either book for a paid tour or you can just go and look around for free in the visitor entrance. It’s a quick walk over the bridge from the flat and offers a great bit of British history.

For whenever you're in the mood for some perpendicular gothic revival architecture.... The Palace of Westminster, or House of Parliament as they're more commonly known, is on of the most impressive buildings in the world (IMHO of course). Again, the No.12 bus from the end of the road - you'll be there in 22 minutes.
