A brilliant day out for all the faimily with lots of events on over the holidays. The Coke family has lived at Holkham since the early 17th century. Holkham Hall, the Palladian style mansion, was built by Thomas Coke, the first Earl of Leicester, between 1734 and 1764. Since then, Holkham has been paving the way in agriculture and is now a thriving estate under the eighth Earl.

Another 'must' trip out along the coast to Holkham - a place we enjoy throughout the year, it's a wonderful stately home and estate steeped in history. As their website says : "A visit to Holkham will exceed all expectations. We are a place of rich and diverse landscapes. Think parkland alive with deer and mighty oaks, a walled garden bursting with blooms and heritage, a nature reserve thrumming with wildlife, farmland abundant in wildflowers and hedgerows, and an expansive beach backed by sand dunes and pine forests." Check out the events - exhibitions, festivals, sporting events - it's a busy place. You can hire bikes there and there's a brilliant Woodland Play Area for children
