If you want to do some bar hopping while in town we recommend going to historic 6th street in downtown Austin. There are 30+ bars on both side of the street and they completely close the road at night on the weekends. Start your hopping at The Jackalope and let the live music carry you to all the other wonderful bars on 6th street.

Once you venture 1/2 mile down 6th street you will hit "dirty 6th", as the locals call it...because if you go there on a Friday or Saturday, it gets a little crazy. Think of an Austin Bourbon Street.
