You can walk to this island at low tide from Gas House Beach. I love doing this - even in the winter! The views are amazing.

Oh the views! This is a historic coastal fortification located a short walk from the "Old Town" district, and overlooks the entrance to Marblehead Harbor. Established in 1644, it is one of the oldest English coastal fortifications in the United States. It was rebuilt with a blockhouse in 1775 during the American Revolution.

Oh the views! This is a historic coastal fortification located a short walk from the "Old Town" district, and overlooks the entrance to Marblehead Harbor. Established in 1644, it is one of the oldest English coastal fortifications in the United States. It was rebuilt with a blockhouse in 1775 during the American Revolution.
A picturesque spot with an interesting past....Redd's Pond is named after Marblehead resident Wilmont Redd, better known as "Mammy" Redd. "Mammy" Redd was arrested during the time of the Salem Witch Trials, accused of "detestable acts called Witchcraft and Sorceries wickedly, mallitiously and felloniously used, practiced & exercised at the Towne of Salem." She was convicted and sentenced to "hang by the neck until she is dead." Her execution took place on September 22, 1692.

Our lighthouse is "distinctive" but the park it's in has amazing views back onto town and out into open water looking north up the coast. There is no better place to sit on the grass and watch boats go by.

The entrance is right next to one of the most spectacular oceanfront mansions on the Neck. Climb out onto the rocks for a bit of adventure and great views.

Located on my favorite beach, Gas House Beach. Rent a kayak or SUP here for easy access to the islands and harbor. There's no better way to see Marblehead than from the ocean! Super friendly and helpful staff :-)
