I LOVE Whip In! This place is truly a locals bar. No hipsters in sight! 100s of beers on tap, wine bar with super knowledgable bartenders and a mini-grocery store. Also an indian/fusion menu that is very vegetarian friendly. Outdoor and indoor seating and good parking in back. Dog friendly outside.

They call it "Dirty Sixth" for a reason. Go downtown and walk around this area to see college-aged debauchery all night long. Tons of dirty dive bars and scantily clad girls falling all over themselves and probably you as well. Cops on horses, people trying to sell you flowers and probably someone puking in the street.

I have not eaten here but, EVERY morning there is a line of people camped out to get this BBQ! it's famous on the East Side.

A freezing cold natural spring that is enclosed on one side with a grassy knoll to lay on for $3 entry ( I suggest you pay the $3) or you can go to the "free side" where you are guaranteed to slip on your butt from all the algae on the rocks and all the dogs are swimming around. If you bring your dog you can only use this side.
There are many ways to enter Town Lake and just as many activities. You can lay in the park and take a nap or jog 5 miles around the lake trails. Dont' feel like running or walking, You can even bike around the trails. Additionally many people rent kayaks and paddle boards.
