Off the Grid in Presidio Picnic is the best. A huge lawn area awaits for you to bring a blanket and feast on the 20+ food trucks / vendors selling their yummy food. Off the Grid also has music played during the events. Good view of the Golden Gate Bridge and surrounding.

If you like to get up early in the AM before 7 AM, you can venture on the rim hiking trail and potentially see a coyote. Coyotes do not hurt humans, but if you have a small dog, please keep a careful eye on your dog. Coyotes have been known to attack very small dogs.
