A trip into the world of olive oil at Skiaxtro Eco Farm

Get ready for a wonderful trip to the world of the blessed olive tree and olive oil. Within the endless Μessinian olive grove, together, we will discover all the myths and the facts around the liquid gold of the Mediterranean. We will make a tour in the estate amongst the olive trees (each of one has an ancient greek name!), we will learn about their history and get to know all the details for the harvest of the fruit up to the production of the olive oil. We will see the harvesting tools, we will lay nets, we will see how the tools work and (provided the experience takes place after mid autumn) we can harvest. Then we will sit in the large dining room under the shade of the pine trees to continue our journey tasting the olive oil. We will get to know how to recognize an extra virgin olive oil. We will learn about the contribution of olive oil to the Mediterranean diet and of course we will close the experience with delicious appetizers based on olive products and local wines.
