Swallow Cottage, Auldgirth - north of Dumfries.

Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

The Cheese House Self Catering Cottage

The cottage comprises of an ensuite family room with a double bed and bunk beds, a living/dining area, a fully fitted kitchen, and another bathroom. It's perfect for couples and families of up to 4. The cottage has central heating so is lovely and warm, and is a great home from home. Enjoy a peaceful break on our organic working farm, set amid the stunning scenery of Dumfries and Galloway, ideally situated for easy access to local attractions. All guests welcome. Free Wi-Fi Dogs £10 per dog.

Tiny Home Static Caravan

The static caravan is set in a rural location overlooking the village of Thornhill and hills beyond. It’s situated on a small holding and has decking to allow you to sit out and enjoy the stunning views. It also has a log burner. Easy walk along a pavement into Thornhill which is less than a mile. The local golf course is within view. Parking for 1 car What3words location STARS THINK NAGS Licence No DG01948N It should be noted that it’s NOT suitable for 4 adults. Only 2 adults and 2 children

One Bed Beautifully Restored Listed Cosy Bothy

NB: The barns opposite have recently been purchased and will be restored in due course, so daytime building works are possible. Our Bothy is a beautifully restored one-bedroom cosy and welcoming retreat in a peaceful setting, surrounded by an acre of meadow and hills. Just over a mile from the ducal village of Thornhill’s shops, cafés and pubs. Full of original character, it is an immaculate, fully equipped and comfortable base for relaxing, walking and exploring scenic Dumfries and Galloway.

The Steading Cottage

The Steading Cottage at Holmhill was once the stables and groom’s quarters to the elegant Georgian main house built by the Drumlanrig Castle Estate. It offers a cosy and beautifully appointed country retreat with breathtaking views over the beautiful Nith Valley and surrounding farmland, renown for its walks, wildlife and fishing. Multiple French Doors provide access to the patio and garden. The Cottage has ramped access. Visit Scotland awarded the Steading Cottage, Holmhill, a 4 star rating.

A cosy, romantic getaway. Unwind by the woodburner, or outside with a bbq or firepit, surrounded by nature and amazing dark skies. The spacious, well-equipped yurt is tucked away in a large private home garden in a beautiful glen, with Scaur Water on the doorstep. The Yurt at Craignee is a snug (but surprisingly spacious), off-grid retreat, with wood burner and garden, surrounded by peace and wildlife. Appletree Cottage

Appletree Cottage offers an entire open plan contemporary living space and outdoor patio area for 4 guests in the heart of the beautiful and vibrant village of Thornhill, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Ideally located within a minutes walk of country pubs, cafes, gift shops and clothes boutiques. Perfectly situated only 10 minutes walk from stunning river and woodland walks and 5 minute drive to historical Drumlanrig Castle to enjoy walking, fishing, cycling/ mountain biking and bird watching

Kirkland Cottage

Kirkland Cottage is completely self-contained and is attached to our main house in an enclosed, secluded and large garden. Although only two miles from Dumfries Town Centre it is in a quiet, rural location. There is ample parking beside the cottage and a lockable room for storage of bicycles and other leisure equipment. The cottage provides a great base from which to enjoy the many cultural and outdoor activities available in the immediate locality.

A beautiful 5 bedroom house set in a semi-rural location within 10 minutes drive from both Dumfries town centre and Thornhill. There are many things to do in Dumfries. It can be a parkland golf course, mountain bike trails at the 7 stanes, camera obscura, a farmers market, restaurants, children's play parks, hills, rivers, forest walks and much more. Dumfries' museums are also treasure troves for uncovering the local history including Robert Burns.

The Old Schoolhouse

A Victorian Schoolhouse, now a cozy and stylish home. The Old Schoolhouse has 3 bedrooms, shower room & en suite bathroom. Wood stove in the lounge, open fire in the kitchen, and central heating. Light, bright, with a large garden looking onto the fields beyond- snowdrops in the spring, cherries in summer, and apples in autumn. The occasional escapee hen wandering about.
